Parking free on the west side of the heating plant and K Zone along the roadway on the north side of the plant.

The U of A for many years provided a home for the Institute of Power Engineers, and is well known by past and present members.


The plant consists of (3) - 2800 kpag and (2) - 6300 kpag, gas and oil fired power boilers, (1) - 13.3 Mw steam turbo-generator, (3) - 1.5 Mw diesel generators , air compressors and desiccant air-dryers, demineralizer and polisher plant. Closed looped chilled water systems and related plant auxiliaries. UCMS network of Fisher Provox process control and UPS systems, etc. The U of A Plant is well known for its one of a kind service corridor that extends an excess of 12 kms underground serving its Campus. The Power Plant is presently upgrading its Fisher Provox system, as well as its new construction of a 26 Mw condensing turbo-generator.
